Promoting efficient transport between the tank and froth pump

As with almost all aspects of the froth pump, the intake duct should be as large as possible to facilitate the cleaning movement of the air and prevent clogging. They should be sloped towards the pump to allow air escaping from the slurry to travel back up to the suction line and into the sump where it can eventually escape. Otherwise, air will become trapped in the piping and interfere with the flow of the slurry to the pump.

The pipe should also be as short as possible, leaving enough space for the maintenance spool and isolation valve, and a water injection port to help flush out any accumulated solids.

Installing a dump valve on the suction side of the pipe will further simplify maintenance as it will easily disconnect the pump from the tank and remove any residual solids from the pump.
